Teshuvah of the Month with Rabbi Kunin
Traditional Judaism (including Conservative Judaism) is a religion of law. We build our lives around halakha (Jewish law). We understand our legal tradition to be based in the past yet growing and developing in every generation. These changes in interpretation are reflected in teshuvot, rabbinic legal decisions, a literature that has been growing over the last thousand or more years. Each month Join Rabbi Kunin as we examine fascinating examples of this important literature, stemming both from ancient and modern Conservative (and occasional Orthodox or Reform) sources.

A Historical Look at HalachaRabbinic
intern Neal Cronin will be leading a series of classes taking a historical look
into major works of Halacha spanning several centuries. Each class in the
series will begin with a short presentation of one key work by a key figure in
a particular century, and will examine how this work builds upon those of the
previous centuries, and how this work influences our views and actions today as
Jews. The brief presentation will be followed by plenty of discussion.
Participants will be invited to share their pertinent personal experiences, and
air any issues the law brings up. Taken a whole, these classes trace the
development of halacha into what we know and apply today.
